Training Materials and Job Aids for the Mozambique Nutrition Rehabilitation Program
2011 — In collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Department of Nutrition, Save the Children and UNICEF, FANTA developed training materials and job aids to support implementation of the Nutrition Rehabilitation Program (PRN), based on the protocols in the national guidelines, Manual de Tratamento e Reabilitaçaõ Nutricional. The training materials include trainers’ guidance, an overview of the PRN, instructions on measuring acute malnutrition, intake procedures, outpatient care and treatment, inpatient care and treatment, management of medical complications, supplementary feeding, HIV and undernutrition, planning for the PRN, and monitoring and reporting. Job aids include algorithms for managing undernutrition, anthropometric indicator tables and graphic instructions on how to take anthropometric measurements.
