In this book chapter, the authors discuss economic inequality with inequality in educational opportunity across a number of developing countries from Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, Central Europe and Asia. The findings show that educational inequalities by gender and identity groups are responsible for substantially low economic output. The research sheds light on the importance of equitable educational opportunity on economic growth.
