The authors tested if participating in antenatal care nutrition interventions reduced household food insecurity. The authors found household food security was improved when husbands of pregnant women were provided information about adequate and appropriate foods. The findings indicate that families will allocate more household resources to food when a compelling rationale is delivered by respected health workers.
