Financial incentives are a potentially powerful tool for health behavior change. As part of the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN) 065 study, a qualitative substudy explored the experiences of implementers and recipients of the intervention. The results indicate that the intervention was highly acceptable despite some reluctance in principle to use financial incentives. The authors offer lessons for future applications of similar interventions
