The authors assessed antiretroviral adherence among adolescents in Ndola, Zambia, using two measures: 48-hour treatment gap in prior three months and pharmacy medication possession ratio in prior six months. The findings support strengthening adolescents’ HIV management skills related to alcohol use, family engagement and the challenges adolescents face when transitioning to adulthood, especially when they are no longer in school.
