Adherence to medication is an important component of HIV care, and measuring adherence is essential to helping patients achieve treatment goals. This paper considers a simple and nonintrusive method, pharmacy refill information, to estimate adherence and its associations with clinical outcomes. Findings show that simple, provider- and client-friendly measures for estimating and ensuring adherence have favorable outcomes.
