FHI 360 leads the USAID Liberia Education Systems Strengthening Activity (ESSA), which seeks to strengthen the capacity of Liberia’s education system to ensure that children and young people in Liberia, especially marginalized students, receive high-quality, inclusive education. To achieve broad impact, the project’s activities target six counties that represent the majority of Liberia’s population: Bong, Grand Bassa, Margibi, Montserrado, Lofa and Nimba.
We work in partnership with the Liberian Ministry of Education (MOE) to develop sustainable, locally led solutions to complex educational governance and management challenges using the Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation framework. To enable a resilient education system that is equipped to meet the evolving needs of all learners in Liberia, we support the MOE in strengthening its information systems, resource management systems, and accountability structures.
ESSA’s activities are implemented with key local and U.S. partners, including ADARA Research and Management Consultancy, Rising Academies, Inclusive Development Partners, and Deloitte.
