Duration
2011 - 2015
As the number of HIV cases among members of the Indonesian Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia or TNI) continues to rise, the TNI has made controlling HIV a strategic priority. With funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Department of Defense, FHI 360 is providing a three-year package of technical support to strengthen TNI’s capacity to implement a sustainable, comprehensive response to HIV. Under the project, FHI 360 is supporting TNI in its efforts to:
- Undertake an Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance survey covering all branches of the military
- Strengthen HIV prevention efforts
- Expand and improve the quality of HIV counseling and testing services
- Implement a monitoring and evaluation system that collects data to monitor performance and assess effectiveness
