Project

Integration of Voluntary Counseling and Testing in DRC Armed Forces

FHI 360 supports the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in implementing HIV prevention activities among military personnel, their family members and the population surrounding military camps. The project addresses perceptions of personal risk of HIV infection from unsafe sex practices; increases awareness and uptake of voluntary, high-quality HIV counseling and testing services; and promotes consistent and correct use of condoms. The project is active in five provinces: Kasai Oriental (Mbuji-Mayi), Katanga (Lubumbashi), Kinshasa, South Kivu (Bukavu) and Oriental Province (Kisangani).
