Duration
2003 - 2007

Implementing AIDS Prevention and Care (IMPACT) contributed directly to the National HIV/AIDS Strategy and Nepal’s strategic objectives on reduced fertility among Nepalese families. IMPACT focused on establishing and expanding the continuum of prevention-to-care services by increasing national capacity to manage an effective response to the HIV epidemic, improving prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and implementing appropriate care and support strategies to mitigate the impact of the HIV epidemic. Primary targets of IMPACT’s work included female and male sex workers and their clients concentrated along highways, injection drug users, men who have sex with men, Nepali migrant workers in high-migration communities in Nepal and in Mumbai, India, and others affected by HIV and AIDS.
