FHI 360’s Immunization Through the Lifespan project advances evidence-based recommendations on vaccine-preventable diseases for people of all ages. FHI 360’s Communication and Social Marketing group has developed strategies that promote childhood immunizations, adolescent immunizations and both seasonal and 2009 H1N1 influenza immunizations. These strategies raise awareness about the importance of getting vaccinated according to the federal government’s recommended schedule.
We work strategically to reduce disparities in vaccination and motivate individuals, especially those at high risk, to get vaccinated. For each campaign, FHI 360 has conducted formative research and created a full suite of advertising materials, such as public service announcements, print ads, digital ads and infographics. In addition, we have employed marketing, public relations and grassroots strategies including radio and satellite media tours, multicultural media roundtables, press conferences and events as part of our outreach approach to increasing vaccine uptake.
