The HIV/AIDS Prevention for Ministry of Defense project aims to reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS among military personnel. The project does this by strengthening health systems and building the capacity of health service providers to address and disseminate guidelines for HIV prevention among Ministry of Defense staff and their families. The project also aims to mitigate discrimination and reduce HIV- and AIDS-related stigma within the Ministry of Defense.
FHI 360 assists the Ministry of Defense in strengthening strategic information, laboratory services, prevention programming and HIV/AIDS control policy development. We work directly with the Ministry of Defense in developing and implementing a seroprevalence survey of HIV and risk behavior among military staff.
FHI 360 is also providing laboratory strengthening support to the military hospital of Abidjan as it undergoes the laboratory accreditation process.
