The goal of the GE Healthcare Primary Training and Referral Care Program in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, is to reduce the rates of newborn morbidity and mortality in the region. To do this, the program uses locally appropriate technologies and capacity-building solutions to improve the number and quality of skilled staff, a referral network and the health care infrastructure.
As an implementing partner, FHI 360 facilitates state and federal stakeholder engagement; builds the capacity of health care workers to use appropriate technology to deliver quality health care services; documents established, sustainable processes; and shares best practices.
