Fostering Agriculture Competitiveness Employing Information Communication Technologies (FACET)
PAST PROJECT
Regions
- Sub-Saharan Africa
FACET is a technical assistance project designed to help U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) missions and implementing partners apply information and communication technologies to agricultural projects. The project’s goal is to improve competitiveness and productivity of agricultural value chains and facilitate trade in agricultural products across sub-Saharan Africa. FACET shares knowledge with USAID missions and implementing partners on sustainable and scalable approaches for using information and communication technologies and provides short-term technical assistance to improve use of these technologies.
For example, FACET has provided technical assistance to USAID implementing partners and mission staff from more than 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa on how to use low-cost video to improve agricultural extension services, product marketing, and monitoring and evaluation.
