Food security and emergency nutrition
More than 2.6 million children die from undernutrition every year. Approximately one in seven people worldwide suffers from hunger. Our technical experts have collaborated with funders, governments, regional groups and nongovernmental organizations to tackle these critical issues using a wide spectrum of interlinked approaches.
-
Micronutrients and food fortification
Optimal nutrition is about more than the simple presence or absence of food. FHI 360’s work combines health, economic and social approaches to address the critical global issue of micronutrient deficiency, which affects billions of people worldwide.
-
Maternal and child nutrition
Inadequate maternal and child nutrition is the underlying cause of an estimated 3.5 million deaths every year. FHI 360 is dedicated to addressing this critical need with innovative programs that make an impact on people’s lives.
-
Nutrition and infectious disease
FHI 360 partners with governments, donors, nongovernmental organizations and private companies to integrate nutrition interventions into HIV/AIDS care and support services. FHI 360 also works to integrate nutrition into the treatment of other infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and malaria.
