LINKAGES World AIDS Day event

November 25, 2014

To mark World AIDS Day, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Linkages across the Continuum of HIV Services for Key Populations Affected by HIV (LINKAGES) project will host an event, Rights in Action, in Washington, DC, on December 4, 2014.

The event will launch LINKAGES, the largest PEPFAR-supported project for key populations affected by HIV.

At the event, donor organizations, United Nations agencies, international nongovernmental organizations, health and rights organizations, academia, and key population advocacy groups will meet to learn about PEPFAR and LINKAGES. They will discuss the latest developments and innovations to support programming for key populations — sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, and transgender people — ensuring that prevention, treatment and care reaches these groups and their partners.

Conversations will focus on improving key population science, policy and practice. The issues will be framed around three special journal supplements, whose guest editors will lead panel discussions with technical experts and representatives from key population communities. Please see the agenda for more details. If interested in attending, please register by December 2.
