Integrating family planning into HIV programs: Evidence-based practices

July 21, 2014

The evidence base for the effective integration of family planning and HIV services is growing, and many guidance documents and tools are now available to support integrated programming.

FHI 360 conducted a review of research findings, program experiences and technical guidance to identify and synthesize evidence on:

  • The rationale for integrating family planning and HIV services
  • The facilitators of — and barriers to — successful integration
  • The impact of integrated family planning and HIV services

A new brief and a narrated 15-minute Prezi (presentation)* summarize this evidence and offer recommendations for institutionalizing and scaling up integrated family planning and HIV services. This work was produced with support from the U.S. Agency for International Development through the Preventive Technologies Agreement.

*View the Prezi in Autoplay by clicking on the triangular Play button in the lower left-hand corner, or advance it manually using the arrows. Please ensure that your speakers are turned on, as the Prezi contains narration.
