Topic and speakers
The focus of the second annual summit will be how to achieve gender equality through harmonizing female empowerment and male engagement strategies, exploring the evidence base both for successful practices and lessons learned, and examining the role of donors in advancing gender integration.
The program features a keynote address by Ambassador Catherine M. Russell, Ambassador-At-Large for Global Women’s Issues, U.S. Department of State. Other confirmed speakers include Susan Markham (U.S. Agency for International Development), Sally Gear (U.K. Department for International Development), Dr. Andrew Morrison (Inter-American Development Bank), Joan Libby-Hawk (United Nations Women and United Nations Global Compact), Theo Sowa (African Women’s Development Fund), Dr. Mary Ellsberg (Global Women’s Institute, George Washington University), Ritu Sharma (Sharma Solutions), Dr. Margaret Greene (GreeneWorks), Lori Michau (Raising Voices Uganda), Emily Esplen (Development Assistance Committee, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), Judithe Registre (Plan International USA), Sumita Taneja (FHI 360 India) and Maryce Ramsey (FHI 360).
