This Pride month, FHI 360 celebrates the accomplishments of our LGBTQIA+ staff and partners. Around the world, they work relentlessly to make their communities better — connecting people to fulfilling careers, providing a wide range of health services and delivering lifesaving support to people in crisis.
Yet the recent wave of laws and policies restricting the rights of LGBTQIA+ people in the U.S. and around the world imperils the progress we’ve seen since the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City. It was then that a group of courageous people, largely led by people of color, stood up to centuries of institutionalized discrimination and abuse. Their call — to treat all people with dignity and respect — is core to FHI 360’s values.
We stand with our LGBTQIA+ colleagues and partners against all forms of discrimination and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to creating a world where all people have the opportunity to lead full and healthy lives.
