Kevin Pettit, MBA, CPA, CGMADirector, Internal Audit and Compliance
Kevin Pettit oversees FHI 360’s independent auditing activities to identify and manage risks across its projects around the globe. He brings a systematic approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization’s risk management, control and governance processes. This includes managing an international team that conducts a comprehensive program of compliance and internal audits. He also ensures that FHI 360 meets its responsibilities to comply with laws, regulations, policies and contracts in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Pettit has more than 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, internal auditing and risk management. He possesses a deep knowledge of how to use financial data effectively and has developed a global perspective through more than a decade of work in international development consulting, including positions at Chemonics International, the Institute of International Education and Development Alternatives. In these positions, he provided financial management and leadership, directed annual budget and forecasting processes, led internal auditing and government compliance, managed complicated registration and compliance issues for international projects, and prepared start-up budgets for country offices.
Pettit has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from James Madison University and a master’s degree in business administration from John Hopkins University. He is also a certified public accountant and a chartered global management accountant.
