Projects & Resources
The goal of the Contraceptive Technology Innovation (CTI) Initiative is to develop new and strategically important contraceptives, through a strong focus on global partnerships, that ensures wide access to quality, affordable and acceptable products for those most in need.
Despite the availability and use of a variety of contraceptive methods, unmet need for family planning remains high. Contraceptive implants — including two-rod implants (Jadelle and Sino-implant (II)) and one-rod implants (Implanon) — are a highly effective, safe and long-acting family planning method
This fact sheet summarizes the research agenda being implemented under the Contraceptive Technology Innovation (CTI) Initiative, a contraceptive research grant funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
