Jacqueline Mahal, MD, MBA
Attending Physician, Department of Emergency Medicine, NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Medical CenterDr. Jacqueline Mahal is a physician certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She has global health and strategic management experience and is skilled in leading teams, program design and implementation, training, and education.
Mahal currently works at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y., where she is an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She also oversees two public health grants, both of which link at-risk patients to specialized HIV or opiate-use care. Additionally, she serves as an assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, teaching clinical skills and reasoning to medical students.
Prior to her work as a physician, Mahal worked for Monitor Group as a strategy consultant in Brazil, New York and South Africa; for Bankers Trust as a Latin American finance associate; and for The Futures Group, where she provided technical support and project management for the Gender in Economic and Social Systems (GENESYS) contract at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Mahal received a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Harvard University; a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania; and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Mahal joined the FHI 360 Board of Directors in October 2019.
