The crisis response team works in fragile states to provide integrated humanitarian assistance to those in urgent need.
Before joining FHI 360, Carlson led the International Rescue Committee’s East Asia region and directed the organization’s portfolios in Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. He has 20 years of experience in conflict resolution, responding to refugee crises and delivering assistance to war-affected regions from Rwanda to the Balkans and eastern Myanmar. Carlson has built humanitarian assistance programs from the ground up in many fragile states and natural disaster situations, and he has led operational planning and program implementation in crisis-prone regions.
