Water and energy efficiency

FHI 360 programs help governments and local communities in the United States and around the world develop and conserve sources of clean water and promote energy efficiency. FHI 360 staff have worked with the public and private sectors to implement programs that encourage efficient use of water resources by providing training in micro-irrigation techniques for agricultural production. We have managed programs that led to changes in building codes that improved water use efficiency, and we have trained plumbers and marketers on techniques for selling water-saving devices.

In the energy sector, FHI 360 staff have developed tools and resources for practitioners working on energy reform, renewable energy and energy efficiency. FHI 360’s skilled professionals use geographic information systems for mapping and spatial analysis of research and program data to design programs that efficiently distribute electricity to underserved populations in urban and peri-urban areas
