Bridge Media is both a process and a product. The Bridge Media production process engages multicultural teams from divided, war-scarred communities. Together, these teams create fast-paced programs with mass-audience appeal. The products are popular media programs that build interethnic understanding. One reality TV series that Bridge Media produced, CooperaTiva, showed interethnic teams of Serbian and Albanian youth in Kosovo competing in a contest that required collaboration and teamwork to win.
FHI 360’s Bridge Media programs use a variety of culturally relevant formats, including reality TV, soap operas, news magazines and documentaries. Media professionals with conflict mediation expertise work with local producers to sharpen production skills. The impact of resulting broadcasts is then enhanced by discussion groups and listening circles designed to foster dialogue at the community and national level.
