Advancing racial and ethnic equity is a central goal of our work everywhere. In the United States,
- We help the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention develop and implement national media campaigns to reduce stigma experienced by people living with HIV, with a strong focus on Black and Hispanic/Latino individuals.
- We work with under-resourced schools and school districts that enroll predominantly Black and Hispanic/Latino youth to develop and implement college- and career-readiness programs relevant to students’ experiences.
- We ensure that Head Start programs and staff working with American Indians and Alaska Natives and with the largely Hispanic/Latino migrant and seasonal farmworker communities have the resources and support they need to deliver high-quality, culturally relevant services.
- We partner with community-based organizations to deliver workforce skills and training for young adults who have been incarcerated or otherwise involved with the justice system. Many of the participants in our programs are Black and Hispanic/Latino.
The long overdue national reckoning to address racial injustice has strengthened our resolve.
We continue to focus on addressing all social inequities while systematically applying a racial and ethnic equity lens to our projects.
We approach this work with humility, knowing that we are on a continuous journey that requires raising our awareness and constantly learning so that we can have the greatest impact possible.
