FHI 360's education work in the United States spans the continuum of learning and development from early childhood to adulthood. Our programs are designed to improve teaching and learning, increase family involvement, promote learning in formal and informal education settings, foster business and education partnerships, expand access to education for children and youth with disabilities, and enhance career and college readiness.
Expertise
-
College and career readiness
FHI 360 helps young adults gain access to college, prepare for the workforce and succeed in careers.
-
U.S. disabilities programs
FHI 360 serves the United States as a central source of information on a wide variety of topics related to disabilities in infants, toddlers, children and youth.
-
Early care and education
Children need early care and education for learning and development. To prepare children to reach their highest potential, we provide integrated programming that connects education to health and community building. This includes training and technical assistance on early childhood grants management, child health and education, and the use of emerging technologies.
-
Educational equity
FHI 360 works to advance equity in educational opportunity, quality, performance and achievement for all young people — regardless of their gender, income, abilities or where they live.
-
High school
Our U.S. education programs are designed to give youth greater access to high-quality high schools, while creating more effective secondary educational systems. We pay particular attention to helping schools support the transition into and out of high school.
- Juvenile justice
-
Middle grades
FHI 360 programs support young adolescents as they navigate the years between elementary school and high school. We ensure that schools, teachers and parents are equipped to help teenagers deal with the multiple challenges that come with their student years.
-
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
FHI 360 works to expand the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce by developing curricula, researching barriers to equitable education and increasing students’ exposure to and knowledge of STEM careers.
-
Teacher education and professional development
FHI 360 helps ensure that classrooms, schools and school districts have exceptional teachers and administrators.
-
U.S. workforce development programs
FHI 360 partners with employers and adult education organizations to ensure that learning does not stop when formal schooling ends — helping the United States create a 21st century workforce.
-
Youth development and engagement
FHI 360 experts recognize that youth have the potential to be powerful and effective change agents. We cultivate the seeds of their promise — education, life skills, employability, healthy life choices and civic participation — to create leaders.
