Contraceptive technology is an evolving, dynamic and ever-changing
subject. To offer high-quality services and care, policy-makers,
administrators and providers of contraceptive services need
to remain abreast of current information and practices. The
purpose of this module is to provide information about contraception
after pregnancy to policy-makers, managers, health-care providers
and students. The module provides a core of information that
can be adapted as needed for various audiences.
After the presentation, audience members will be able to:
- discuss contraception after pregnancy, which contraceptive
methods are appropriate and the timing of their initiation;
- discuss the main counseling points for contraception after
pregnancy;
- discuss the importance of offering contraception after
pregnancy.
